Youth capacity building is a critical aspect IYACODI focuses on towards national development; focusing on equipping young people with the skills, knowledge, and opportunities needed for personal and professional growth. It involves various initiatives, including education, leadership training, mentorship, and entrepreneurial development. IYACODI invests in the youth so that societies can ensure a more capable and self-reliant generation, prepared to tackle global challenges. One of the key elements of our capacity building is skill development which help young individuals harness their talents and become innovators in their fields. IYACODI encourages young people to participate in governance, advocacy, and community service, which allows them to develop decision-making skills and a sense of responsibility. Moreover, digital literacy is essential in today’s world because access to technology and online education has proven to empower youth, allowing them to compete in a globalized economy. IYACODI is dedicated to continually invest in capacity-building initiatives so that societies can unlock the full potential of young people, leading to sustainable development and a brighter future.
Community service is an essential activity that promotes civic engagement, social responsibility, and personal growth among youth. IYACODI provides voluntary efforts aimed at improving the well-being of society through activities such as environmental conservation, educational outreach, healthcare assistance, and humanitarian aid. Engaging young people in community service organised by IYACODI fosters leadership, teamwork, and a strong sense of purpose. One significant benefit of community service is its impact on personal development. Young individuals gain valuable skills such as problem-solving, communication, and project management, which are useful in both personal and professional life hereby impacting the community.
Vocational Education and Training (VET) play a crucial role in equipping young people with practical skills that enhance employability and entrepreneurship. IYACODI has found this pathway to development as one which has the ability to address youth unemployment. IYACODI uses VET to bridge the gap by providing industry-relevant skills, ensuring that young people are job-ready upon completion of their training. Furthermore, IYACODI incorporates modern technology into vocational training ensuring that learners are equipped with up-to-date skills that match the demands of the evolving job market. Investing in vocational education empowers youth, reduces poverty, and boosts economic development. By shifting the focus from mere theoretical knowledge to practical expertise, IYACODI is empowering societies so that they can build a more competent and self-sufficient workforce.
The fight against drug abuse and cultism among youth is a critical issue that requires collective action from families, schools, government agencies, and communities. Drug abuse leads to addiction, poor health, academic failure, and criminal activities, while cultism promotes violence, lawlessness, and a breakdown of moral values. Both issues pose significant threats to the future of young people and society at large. Through trying different interventions, IYACODI has identified one of the most effective ways to combat drug abuse and cultism which is through awareness campaigns. Also, educational programs in schools and communities has helped to inform young people about the dangers of substance abuse and gang involvement. IYACODI employs the use of public service announcements, social media advocacy, and seminars featuring former addicts and cult member as powerful tools in discouraging these acts. IYACODI partners with law enforcement agencies to discourage the use of drugs and involvement in cultism. By creating a drug-free and violence-free environment, we can safeguard the future of our youth and ensure a healthier, more prosperous society.
